Greenpeace is running a multi-month cross-media campaign to rally support for marine conservation—featuring a campaign idea that also establishes an important new mindset.
Have you ever spotted marine animals outside your living room window? Greenpeace is campaigning with a multi-month cross-media initiative to garner support for marine conservation. The concept encourages people to see themselves as part of nature—and to view other living creatures as neighbors.
That’s why our neighbors from the ocean are knocking on social media, asking for neighborhood assistance in five short videos. This was followed by ads on news platforms, emails, and TV spots. Next came membership renewals and acquisition mailings landing in mailboxes, accompanied by posters and a broad mail distribution.
The engagement of these “neighbors” on digital platforms has been exceptionally encouraging. The creative messaging is proving to be highly effective in motivating people to take action for marine conservation.
